West Lowndes Boys Basketball Coach Fired

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — West Lowndes High School appears to be in the market for a new head boys basketball coach. wlhs

Head coach Rickie Hill was fired by West Lowndes on Monday. Hill has been the coach of the Panther boys basketball team for over a half decade.

Hill will have until Friday to appeal the decision made by the school. The Panthers are off to an (0-2) start to the season.

This isn’t the first time Hill has faced being fired by West Lowndes High. In 2010, allegations of sexual assault were released against Hill after he was accused of molesting a 13-year old girl.

The charge was later dropped after an investigation into the sexual assault turned up no wrong doing by Hill.

West Lowndes is scheduled to play Aliceville on Tuesday at home. No word as to who will be the Panthers’ interim coach for that game.
