LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The long lineage of talent from Louisville continues its rich history.

Louisville High School wide receiver Dontea Jones was named a member of the Clarion-Ledger’s Dandy Dozen on Monday. The Dandy Dozen is the newspaper’s list of the best 12 high school football players in the state of Mississippi.

Louisville WR Dontea Jones was selected as the 8th member of the 2014 Clarion Ledger Dandy Dozen on Monday.

Jones, a Mississippi State verbal commit, joins fellow MSU commits Malik Dear, Timothy Washington and Jamal Peters on the distinguished list.

The 6’5″, 205 lb. receiver helped lead Louisville to an undefeated 16-0 season and the 2013 Class 3A State Championship in 2013. He tallied 43 receptions for 774 yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior season.

“Just got chosen as a Dandy Dozen,” Jones said via Twitter on Tuesday. “This is a dream come true. God has really blessed me.”

Jones is the seventh Louisville Wildcat all time to be named to the Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen, the first since Clayton Moore and Marcus Thames in 2008.

2008: QB Clayton Moore
2008: RB Marcus Thames
