LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Lowndes County man already out on bond on crystal meth charges is one of three people arrested in a new drug case.

The Lowndes Sheriff’s narcotics unit says Kristy Handley,, 27, of Steens, Jessica Vance, 29, of Columbus, and John Ross Chism, 31, of Columbus, all are charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Handley was charged after she was stopped on Highway 82. Narcotics Director Bobby Grimes says she was in possession of meth, pills, and Demorol. Her arrest led agents to pick up Chism and Vance about 45 minutes later for possession of meth and demorol.

Chism was arrested by the narcotics in January on meth charges.

I am just now seeing this for the first time but this information is totally incorrect. I was not in possession of meth, pills OR demorol. The only thing I had was paraphenalia and because of that was charged with possession of a controlled substance. I had no actual drugs on me and for the local news to report that I was caught in possession of three different kinds of drugs is quite upsetting! Next time do a little more research before reporting things that are not true and slandering the names of residents of our community.
