Man Charged in Old Sex Abuse Case

Workman

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — DNA evidence may be the key to a child sex abuse case that dates back more than 35 years.

Lindsay Workman, 70, of Glendale, Utah, is being held on $20,000 bond in Lowndes County on sexual battery charges.

Investigators say that between 1977 and 1984, he sexually abused a girl when she was between the ages of 10 and 17. Court records allege one of the incidents occurred on the girl’s 11th birthday in 1978. The girl in the case turns 46 Tuesday.

The abuse resulted in a child being born and Lowndes detectives say DNA tests recently confirmed Workman is the father of that child.
