Man Steals County Truck, Gets Jail Time

LOWNDES CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A man will spend five years in prison for breaking in a Lowndes County Road Department building and stealing a truck.

Justin Painter pleaded guilty to burglary of a commercial building and felony taking of a motor vehicle.

He was facing two additional charges in connection with the August 2016 break-in.

Painter was arrested, along with Edward Jones, just a few days after the previous burglaries.

At the time, investigators told WCBI they responded to a vehicle fire at a Lowndes County Road Department barn.

A fence was also damaged.

The duo was arrested after a pursuit.
