Mississippi Falls in All Star Game

Thomas Hamlin kicked three first-half field goals to lead Alabama to a 21-16 win in Saturday’s Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic at Cramton Bowl.Hamlin’s kicks covered 30, 35 and 51 yards. His high school teammate, McGill-Toolen’s Jason Smith, caught six passes for 134 yards and was Alabama’s most valuable player.

Defensive lineman Chris Jones of Houston was Mississippi’s most valuable player. He made eight tackles, including a sack and three tackles for loss.

Foley’s Cedrix Reed had a 30-yard touchdown run and Austin’s Joshua Walker a 9-yarder to give Alabama a 21-0 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Mississippi used two long touchdown passes and a safety to pull within five.

Charleston’s Kameron Myers caught a 47-yard TD pass from Oxford’s Parker Adamson, and Eupora’s Derrick Jones pulled in a 41-yarder from Ocean Springs’ Wes Windham with 4:41 remaining.

Alabama has won five straight in the series, which it leads 19-7.
