Mother Of Columbus Shooting Suspect Charged

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The mother of a Columbus shooting suspect is accused of threatening a witness.

Velma Williams, 53, is charged with two counts of intimidating a witness.

Investigators say she contacted a witness in the downtown Columbus shooting this past weekend and made a threat.

Williams’ son, 24 year-old Terrance Williams, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault after several vehicles were hit battered with bullets on 5th Street South.

Terrance Williams’ bond was set at one million dollars for the assault charges.
