STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The autism group Jigsaw MSU held their first meeting this year on campus Saturday.

The group was formed about a year and a half ago to raise more awareness about the genetic disorder.
Members from the community including some with autism themselves attended the meeting.

“Jigsaw primarily focuses on ways that we can not only teach social skills from those students that we have from Jigsaw that come to our group but also how we can raise awareness in our community about people with autism, with ASD and other ways we can involve students that are not on the autistic spectrum,” said Founder of the group Alex Orsak.

Right now the group is working on raising money for their big event coming up March 21st, a 5K run.

For more information on autism and how you can join you can find the group on Facebook at Jigsaw MSU.
