STARKVILLE, Miss.–Senior English major Jennifer S. “Jenni” Brown of Winona reigns this week as Homecoming Queen at Mississippi State University.
Brown, the daughter of Stephen and Debbie Brown, recently was chosen in campus-wide elections. She and the eight class maids will be presented formally during halftime Saturday [Oct. 12] of the MSU-Bowling Green football game in Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. Seniors Michael A. Hogan of Memphis, Tenn., and Shelby M. Sims of Hattiesburg are this year’s Mr. and Miss MSU. They also were selected in the voting and will be introduced during the ceremonies.
Hogan, the 2013-14 Student Association president, is a management major and the son of Michael and Amy Hogan. Sims is a political science/pre-law major and the daughter of Ora and Delma Sims.
Each undergraduate class is represented by two maids. The homecoming court includes:
SENIOR–Kaeley N. Gemmill of Meridian and Bri Stewart of Franklin, Tenn. Gemmill is a political science/pre-law major and the daughter of Timothy and Brenda Seymour; Stewart is a management major and the daughter of James and April Stewart.
JUNIOR–Kacie Green of Booneville and Camile Jones of Iuka. Green is an apparel, textiles and merchandising major and the daughter of Jackie and Teresa Green; Jones is a business administration major and the daughter of David Jones and Serena Jones.
SOPHOMORE–Morgan A. McCormick of Carriere and Taylor Thoms of Richton. McCormick is an aerospace engineering major and the daughter of Berry and Debra McCormick; Thoms is a mechanical engineering major and the daughter of Hugh and Suzanne Thoms.
FRESHMAN–Margaret K. Burleson of Tupelo and Halee Register of Gulfport. Burleson is a food science, nutrition and health promotion major and the daughter of James and Kimberley Burleson; Register is a liberal arts major and the daughter of Jeffrey and Barbie Register.
