MSU Raises Over $80mill for 3rd Year in Row

STARKVILLE, Miss (WCBI) – MSU continues to raise millions in monetary gifts from its Alumni and major corporations.

For three consecutive years, Mississippi State University has raised more than $80 million in pledged financial support from alumni, corporations, foundations, and trusts. The MSU Foundation conducts most of the fundraising and says Alumni giving is at 18%, well above the national average. The MSU Alumni Association was founded in 1885 and currently has 95 chapters throughout the region. MSU Foundation CEO John Rush believes good leadership and management has attracted big donors to MSU.

“I attribute that a lot to Dr. Keenum’s leadership. He’s in his 5th year. He’s created a lot of excitement but more than that it’s our Alumni. Our Alumni combined largely of working class families so they have first generation wealth. They attribute much of their success to the education that they got here at Mississippi State,” says Rush.

The largest MSU Alumni chapter, Central Mississippi, is hosting its 36th annual extravaganza  Thursday night in Jackson.
