STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The MSU basketball team has to say goodbye to another player Thursday. Head coach Rick Ray has dismissed Wendell Lewis from the program for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

Lewis, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged over 8 points and 4 rebounds per game last season before injuring his right knee. He was granted a medical hardship to play this season. This would have been his final year of eligibility.

Rick Ray stated, “I am saddened by the actions we had to take because we brought Wendell back to give him an opportunity to complete his senior year on the court healthy and earn his degree.”

Jalen Steele who averaged over 10 points per game left the team just over two weeks ago.
