STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-They say there is no bond like that of a man and his dog.

And you can learn more about that bond at Mississippi States College of Veterinary Medicine.

This week only the College will host it’s annual Nestle Purina Human-Animal Bond Lecture Series.

Today featured guest came and spoke about Comparative Biomedical Research and professional dog trainers gave a demonstration and advice.

Wildrose Kennels in Oxford were one of the featured guests that presented today.

Michael Stewart told WCBI, ” We train in a positive way. That means the handlers and owners have to become pack leaders. They have to lead the dog, construct the life of the dog around simplicities of boundaries, limitations, rules. That’s the pack order. That’s the way they work in the wild; that’s the way they work in your home.”

The lecture series runs through Friday and starts at noon.

The series is free and open to the public.
