Columbus, MS (WCBI) Lowndes County 911 officials didn’t have to look far to replace Sherri Fancher. Veteran dispatcher Melanie McCoy has been tapped to head Columbus Lowndes County Emergency 911.

Fancher retires after twenty-four years with 911. She served as Director for the past five years.  McCoy is no stranger to the agency.  She has spent 18 years with Columbus Lowndes County Emergency 911. There were four finalists for the job; all were current employees.
