Video: New Albany Business Robbed

NEW ALBANY (WCBI) – The search is on for the suspect who robbed a check cashing business at gunpoint this afternoon in New Albany.

New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson says it was around 2:30 when the man in these photos from a security camera, walked into the “Money N Minutes” store on Crystal Drive.

Employees say the suspect brandished a handgun, and demanded money.  The suspect fled on foot after getting an undetermined amount of cash.

Chief Robertson describes the suspect as a black male, with medium skin tone,  he is 5 eight to six feet tall, and weighs between 220 and 240 pounds.  He was wearing a blue fleece jacket and a red cap.

Authorities believe he got into a vehicle parked nearby and could be on I 22 toward Memphis.
