New Commander Speaks at Luncheon

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — After leading the Columbus Air Force Base for a month now, Col. Douglas Gosney speaks at Thursday’s Base Community Council Luncheon.

The commander talked about his personal life, military career, and his goals for the base.

He says it’s important for both the base and community to work together.

“I think it’s incredibly important, but not just the community supporting the base, but the base supporting the community,” Gosney said. “I look at it as a mutual agreement that we are both supporting each other. Nobody can get their mission done without the support of the other teammate.”

Col. Gosney was last stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
