North Pontotoc Hires Caledonia’s Crotwell as New Head Football Coach

ECRU, Miss. (WCBI) — North Pontotoc has their man.

Former head coach Brian Sutton confirmed to WCBI that Andy Crotwell has been hired and approved as the school’s new head football coach of the Vikings. Crotwell takes over for Sutton, who is the new principal at North Pontotoc High.

Crotwell spent the last four seasons as head coach at Caledonia. He led the Feds to a 19-25 record in four years, including two playoff appearances. CHS had made it into the playoffs just twice in 32 seasons prior to Crotwell’s arrival.

A graduate of Millsaps College, Crotwell spent 11 years coaching football in a variety of positions at Tupelo before taking the head coaching job at Caledonia in 2013.

Crotwell tells WCBI he expects to meet with his new team on Tuesday prior to the start of spring practice.
