Okolona Officer Faces Hearing

OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI) — In a story first reported by WCBI last month, a February hearing has been set on whether Okolona police investigator Romona Robertson should be charged with DUI.

Robertson was stopped Dec. 7 on suspicion of DUI by state trooper James Burrow in Chickasaw County. But under state law, police officers and teachers must undergo show-cause hearings in Circuit Court before being charged.

Robertson has remained on the job.

District Attorney Ben Creekmore will present the case to a judge at the Feb. 4 hearing in Chickasaw County Circuit Court.
