Oxford Mourns Tragic Loss Following Fatal Crash

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Less than 24 hours after a fatal plane crash claimed the lives of 6 Oxford citizens, the outpouring of support from the close-knit community has been huge.

Those killed in the plane crash were; Dr Jason Farese and his wife, Lea, they were dentists in Oxford.

Doctor Michael Perry and his wife Kim were also killed. Doctor Perry was with MidSouth Dental Implants and Periodontics, his wife, Kim, had quit her job at Ole Miss in the past year or so to spend more time with their children.

And Doctor Austin Poole and his wife Angie also died in the crash. They lived in Oxford and had a dental practice in Clarksdale.

Oxford Mayor Pat Patterson says that the families involved should know that an entire city is grieving with them and sharing in their sorrow during this extremely tragic time.

“It is a very small-knit community, and we just haven’t dealt with this situation before, and it hurts… very badly,” he said.

Patterson added that there will likely be some sort of public service honoring the families, after all of the funerals have taken place.
