Oxford Police Arrest Two Men In Separate Breaking And Entering Incidents

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Oxford Police nab two men over the weekend, both accused of breaking into homes and assaulting the residents.

On February 17, Oxford Police officers were sent to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a call that a man had broken into a home.

The suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Daniel Bass, reportedly walked into the home of the female victim unannounced, and once inside, began kissing her.

She says she tried to push Bass off of her and get away from him, but he jerked her back by hair. She finally managed to escape and call for help some time later.

Bass was later found close by the area and was arrested and charged with breaking and entering. His bond was set at $5,000 dollars.

 

48-year-old James Robinson of Crystal Springs is also accused of walking into a home he didn’t live in.

Officers responded to call that Robsinson broke into a home on Burney Branch and assaulted the resident, then ran off. Shortly after, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Robinson had been

accused of trespassing from that same home just several days before this incident.

Robinson and the victim had previously been in a romantic relationship.

The day after the break-in and assault, Robsinson was found in Hazlehurst and arrested on charges of breaking and entering and domestic violence.

According to police, the injuries to the victim were minor.

He was transported from the Copiah County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail, where he remains on a $40,ooo dollar bond.
