Philadelphia Names New Police Chief

PHILADELPHIA — The board of alderman has named investigator Bill Cox as the town’s new police chief.

City officials say Cox was among eight applicants for the job.

The Neshoba Democrat reports that Cox took over the job this week.

Cox succeeded Dickie Sistrunk who retired in July.

Assistant Police Chief Julian Greer had been overseeing the department since Sistrunk retired.
