Police Investigate A Potential Armed Robbery

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The Columbus Police Department was dispatched late Monday night to the Shell gas station on Main Street in Columbus for what appears to be a potential armed robbery.

The Columbus Police Department has not confirmed the armed robbery as of late Monday night.

However, the cashier who was inside of the store during the time the potential crime took place, confirmed to WCBI that it was indeed an armed robbery.

The cashier, who didn’t want to go on camera or give her name, said the suspect came into the store, pointed a gun in her face, and left out of the store with $150.

The store worker said she couldn’t make out a description of the suspect because he was wearing a black mask over his face, but she does believe he’s someone who comes into the gas station often.

She tells WCBI she just about to lock up and close the store for the night prior to this incident happening.

This is still an on-going investigation by the Columbus Police Department.

At this time they have not released any details.

WCBI will continue to follow this investigation and release more details as they become available.
