Video: Pontotoc Alcohol Ordinance to Take Effect Dec. 3

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) — Prohibition in Pontotoc ends in 30 days.

The Pontotoc Board of Aldermen tonight gave the final OK to an ordinance which legalizes beer, light wine and liquor in the city.

The new law takes effect Dec. 3.

Beer sales will take place from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Restaurants on Sundays can sell beer from 1 p.m. – 10 p.m., but stores cannot have Sunday beer sales.

State law sets most of the rules for liquor sales.
