JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) -Republicans virtually complete their control of the state House of Representatives.

Wednesday afternoon, lawmakers in Jackson voted to seat Republican Mark Tullos of Raleigh in a controversial election.

Tullos and Democrat Bo Eaton of Taylorsville tied in the November District 79 election.

Eaton won the tiebreaker by drawing straws. Tullos challenged the election.

Wednesday’s decision means Republicans will have control over almost every issue in the House.

The GOP also has a majority in the Senate.
