FAYETTE, ALA. (WCBI) — Qualifying still is weeks away but at least one West Alabama state legislative race likely will be contested next November.

Fayette resident Kyle South says he plans to run as a Republican against Democratic incumbent Daniel Boman of Sulligent for the 16th District House seat.

The district covers parts of Lamar, Fayette and Tuscaloosa counties.

The 32-year-old South is a graduate of the University of Alabama and is general manager of West Alabama Cable in Fayette.

Glad to see Mr. South in the race, maybe he can bring something to the offices other than empty promises and no improvements. Maybe as a business man he can do something to bring some jobs to a district that surely needs them.

The biggest thing would be as a Republican he wouldn’t be under the coattail of Roger “The Doger” Bedford……can I get a amen to that !!!! One less lawyer in Montgomery.
