UNDATED, Miss. (WCBI)-Legislation proposed by Governor Phil Bryant to provide scholarships for students to attend private schools dies with house leaders.

House Education Chair John Moore opted not to bring it up for consideration this week.

Other controversial education proposals also died in the house without a vote. These include a bill to provide public funds for special education students to attend private schools.

A proposal to allow local boards of supervisors or municipal boards to have veto authority over school board budgets never made it out of committee, either.

And, lawmakers won’t vote on a bill allowing students to cross district lines to attend school.

Even though these proposals died in the house they can still be considered in later sessions.
