Video: SOCSD Teacher Tied To Controversial Facebook Post Resigns

STARKVILLE (WCBI) – The Starkville Oktibbeha County School District teacher caught up in a controversial Facebook post is leaving her position.   During a specially called board meeting today, Connie Barber was among 18 resignations, retirements and change of status actions approved by the board.  Barber is the Henderson Ward Stewart art teacher whose Facebook post following the election created controversy in the district.

Part of that post said the “White House needs a good Clorox scrubbing” which some took as a derogatory reference to President Obama and his family.   Barber’s resignation was effective November 28th.  It was revealed that Barber had been suspended 3 days for the post
