This year, the job is to expect more from themselves at Hebron.

“I have quite a few guys who experience playing time returning,” coach Foster said. “I’m expecting big things from my team but you have to play the game to find out. We have a big junior class, not a lot of seniors but I’m expecting a big year.”

In the process of making the playoffs, Hebron won their first playoff game since converting to 8-man football in 2011.

It will be a difficult task returning to the playoffs and winning with what’s ahead in MAIS 8-Man football for 2014, but the Eagles believe they can do it.

“We made it to the north half last year and got beat by Sharkey,” Foster said. “They ended up winning the State Championship with a team full of juniors and sophomores. But our goal is to get back to the playoffs and see how far we can get. Ultimately, it would be great to get to Jackson and have a chance to win it all.”

Hebron will start the season on the road with a difficult test at Victory Christian.
