With the end of the 2013 baseball campaign, the Alabama Crimson Tide sends 16 players to play in leagues during the summer. Seven players are participating in the Cape Cod League, four in the Northwoods League, two in the each of the Florida Collegiate League and Texas Collegiate League and one in the New England Collegiate League.

Alabama freshman relief pitcher Ray Castillo (Seale, Ala.) was named a 2013 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-American. Castillo garnered second team honors when the team was announced on Monday.

Two Alabama seniors, right-handed pitcher Charley Sullivan and catcher Brett Booth, were selected on the third day of the 2013 MLB Draft. Sullivan was picked in the 29th round by the Detroit Tigers and Booth was a 34th round selection by the Houston Astros.

Bama Baseball Camps, Inc. will offer four unique camps throughout the 2013 summer months, and the staff is still accepting signups for this year. Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard and his coaching staff will offer top-notch baseball instruction and help each camper improve their baseball skills.

Alabama freshmen, shortstop Mikey White (Birmingham, Ala.) and relief pitcher Ray Castillo (Seale, Ala.) were selected as 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-Americans, as announced by Collegiate Baseball News today.

The Southeastern Conference has released the schedule for the 2014 baseball season. The Alabama Crimson Tide's 30-game SEC schedule will begin at home on March 14 with a three-game series against Kentucky, and wraps up with a home series against Mississippi State, May 15-17.
