Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) – Some Mississippi University for Women students are taking a “Stand for Freedom.”

The MUW International Justice Mission chapter kicked off its two day “Stand for Freedom” event Wednesday evening on campus.

Students could buy t-shirts, make posters, or pose in the photo booth.

It was a fun time but raised awareness about a serious problem, human trafficking and slavery.

The group says an estimated 29.8  million people in the world are in slavery or being held against their will, the most at any point in history.

The “W” organization will have six more events through Thursday.
