Starkville Gets Grant From MDOT To Help Pay For Bus System

[bitsontherun PgUNbNAO] STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Efforts to develop a mass transit system for Starkville and the MSU campus will get a major boost Tuesday (10-2). The Mississippi Department of Transportation is set to present a $2,000,000 dollar grant to help pay for a bus system to serve the city and campus. Nicknamed SMART or Starkville MSU Area Rapid Transit, the new program will have three scheduled routes plus other specialized connectors. Backers of the new transit system will unveil details of the project Tuesday (10-2).
