MYRTLE, Miss. ( WCBI) – Strong winds toppled trees, snapped power lines and damaged mobile homes in Union County, Wednesday (10-17) night.

Myrtle was hit especially hard.

Numerous homes were damaged, in that area, as a massive front made its way from Arkansas through Mississippi.

Emergency crews spent hours clearing debris and trying to get things back to normal.

Union County EMA Director Curt Clayton says, ” Last night, when we did our DR 1 report and turned it into MEMA, we put down 7 major damages or destructions. And we put down, I believe, we have 10 with minor damages with three 3 homes with minor damages. ”

The Mississippi Delta was hit especially hard.

At least 4 people were injured there.
