Video: Suspect Now Charged in 2 Tupelo Bank Robberies

[bitsontherun YyYExM7l]TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo Police have now charged a man in connection with Monday afternoon’s robbery of the Renasant Bank on North Gloster Street and the September holdup of a Renasant lcoation on Veterans Boulevard.

Brian Jones, 35, was picked up Monday evening by Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies on the Natchez trace Parkway near Bear Creek driving a vehicle similar to one thought to have been used in the robbery, which occurred shortly after 4 p.m.

According to Lee County jail records, he was brought back to Tupelo and charged with bank robbery Monday night. He also is a suspect in the robbery of the Renasant Bank in Booneville Friday afternoon and one previously in Iuka.

The suspect in Monday’s robbery passed a threatening note to a teller, demanded money and acted as if he had a weapon. He stuffed cash into his pants pockets and fled on foot.
