Tishomingo Sheriff’s Deputies Make Drug Arrest

TISHOMINGO CO., Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – On September 24, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper equipment, that was traveling down HWY 72 in the Burnsville area.

During the course of the traffic stop, the deputies could smell an odor of alleged marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The deputies then asked the driver of the vehicle, was there any more marijuana on him or in the vehicle.

The driver admitted that he had a small amount left on him.

The driver was then removed from the vehicle and a “pat down” for weapons, confirmed that the driver did in fact have a small amount of alleged marijuana on his possession.

A further search of the vehicle yielded some alleged methamphetamine being found in said vehicle.

The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.

Matthew Arnold, 32-year-old, white male of 1 CR 1123, Booneville, Mississippi was officially charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) as well as other misdemeanor charges.

Arnold’s bond was set on the felony at $7,500.00 by Justice Court.
