Child Abuse Charges Filed After Meth Found in Infant’s System

Clay County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have arrested and charged Mark McNutt Jr., age 25 and Courtney Witinole, age 22, with Child Deprivation of Necessaries with Substantial Harm and Samantha McNutt, age 24 and Justin Klutts, age 36 with Child Abuse. Sheriff Eddie Scott stated the investigation stemmed from an eight month old child having seizures and later determined to have methamphetamineSAMANTHA MCNUTT COURTNEY WITINOLE JUSTIN KLUTTS MARK MCNUTT, JR in the child’s system. Scott said authorities are working very closely with Department of Human Services in this case.

Bond has been set at $50,000.00 for Samantha McNutt and Justin Klutts, $10,000.00 for Mark McNutt Jr. and $5,000.00 for Witinole. All individuals are currently incarcerated at the Clay County Detention Center except Witinole who posted bond on her charge.
