Columbus Police Chase Ends In Crash, Suspects on Loose

Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus police are searching for two men after a car cash ended with a serious accident. The chase ended near 21st Avenue North on Martin Luther King Drive on 14th Avenue. The chase ended around 10 P.M.

Interim Police Chief Fred Shelton said one person was injured in the accident and was sent to the hospital. Investigators are still searching for two other suspects that left the scene after the accident.

The red Ford sedan crashed head on into an electrical pole, knocking out much of the power in that area.

Shelton also said they found two loaded weapons were found in the vehicle. The reason behind the chase is still unknown.

Columbus Light and Water has restored power back to the area around 11 P.M.

Columbus P.D. is still investigating the incident.
