Video: Columbus Man Gets Life in Murder Trial

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man will spend the rest of his life in prison after a Lowndes County jury convicts him of murder Wednesday afternoon.

Jurors took just over 2 hours to find Derrick Nelson guilty of murder in the 2013 shooting death of 29 year-old Willie Hood at their Columbus home.

Nelson was immediately sentenced to serve life in prison.
