Broadcast Music Incorporated says Steeles Dive on West Main street has repeatedly allowed songs to be performed live or recorded without paying licensing fees.  The lawsuit says the licensing group first made contact with owner Jason Steele in October 2014 reminding him his restaurant needed a license in order to play music in the restaurant.  BMI says it made over 50 phone, email or certified letter contact with the company asking they comply.   Court records show in June of this year, a BMI representative visited the restaurant and documented various songs being played without a license.l  The lawsuit is seeking payment for the copyright violations along with court costs and attorney fees.
