UM Hosts Fall Convocation

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — Ole Miss is welcoming its new students.

The university held its annual Fall Convocation for incoming freshmen and transfer students, Tuesday.

UM’s 17th chancellor, Jeffrey Vitter, delivered the keynote address.

The first-year students also received a free commemorative coin as part of the program.

School officials say the coins represent the transition to the university community.

The coins also remind students to work every day toward their graduation.
