Arrest Made In Columbus Auto Burglaries

COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) – On Sunday , November 8,2015 at 7 AM officers with the Columbus Police Dept. responded to the area of 800 block Dana Drive in Columbus Ms. In reference to several cars being burglarized (8) in the area. The police were able to make and arrest with the help of a citizen that observed the suspect get into a car and flee the scene with some stolen property in it. The suspect, John Williams, was caught a short time later with the vehicle and stolen property inside of it. Some of the property was returned to the owners, who were able to identify the stolen property recovered.

The suspect arrested was John Williams Jr. He was charged with two counts of Burglary of Auto.

Mr. Williams was taken before a Columbus Municipal Judge and was not allowed to have a bond, as he was already indicted on prior burglary charges and out on bond at the time of these two offenses.
