Video: Columbus Police Honor Fallen Officers

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Local police officers are honoring their fellow brothers and sisters in blue.

Columbus police kicked off National Police Appreciation Week Friday night with a candlelight vigil honoring law enforcement officers.

Several local agencies were on hand for the event, paying tribute to those who lost their lives while protecting their communities.

123 officers from across the country were killed in the line of duty last year.

Columbus police also plan to hold a wreath laying ceremony Sunday afternoon.
