Columbus Police Masquerade Ball Fundraiser

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Normally officers of the Columbus Police Department are apprehending masked bandits, but Friday night they were dining and dancing with members of the community.

The Columbus Police Department held their Masquerade Ball at the Trotter Convention Center in Downtown Columbus. The event began at 7 p.m. Friday night.

There was live music, dinner, dancing, and two silent auctions. The money raised tonight will benefit the police departments annual Christmas toy drive and their observance of the National Night Out on Crime.

There were two silent auctions – one benefiting the toy drive and one raising funds to help pay for medical bills for veteran investigator Kelvin Lee who is battling cancer.

You can still donate toys to the department at the Municipal Complex on Main Street in Columbus.
