Video: Grant To Help Clean up Contaminated Properties

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-The City of Columbus now has a grant that that will help clean up contaminated properties in the area.

Columbus officials will begin working on the project next year.

The $400,000 Brownsfields Assessment Grant will allow officials to determine if properties have contaminants and if they need to clear them for development.

So far, the city knows of at least 30 properties that might quality for assessment.

The Environmental Protection Agency funds the program.
