Video: North Mississippi Man Charged For Impersonating A Police Officer

BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI)-Local churches in Bruce didn’t know what to expect when a visitor came through their church doors pretending to be a representative from Homeland Security.

The Bruce police department is asking for everyone to be on alert for 51 year old Jockey Justice.

Last Thursday Justice was charged for Impersonation of a Police officer representing Homeland security.

Over the past month, investigators said Justice has been going to several churches talking to members about safety procedures and preventative measures to prevent a church shooting from happening.

Police Chief Stan Evans said Justice went to four churches in Bruce, including New Hope Church of God in Christ, Bruce Chapel, and Jackson Chapel.

No one from the congregations would go on camera and the pastors were out of town, but they said Justice seemed legit.

Now, they know it’s a lie told in church.

Evans said Justice told Ushers to make sure they look everyone in the eyes, and watch them closely.

Some church members said Justice told their congregation to start patting people down, and even showed one congregation how to hold a gun.

After several complaints, Evans confirmed with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that Justice did not work for the federal agency.

In fact, Justice has never worked for a law enforcement agency.

Justice also tried to speak at a fourth church in Bruce, Lighthouse Baptist Church, but their pastor, Ed Spearman didn’t allow him to speak.

Justice is currently out on bond.  Chief Evans encourages churches to check with local law enforcement if they want to implement a security plan.
