STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It was an extremely hot Saturday but some furry friends and their owners took a cool dip in a local pool.

It’s all apart of the 5th Annual Dog Paddle Party, hosted by the Oktibbeha County Humane Society.

The pups took went for a swim in the Mocrief Park Pool, just before it’s drained for the season.

There is a small admission fee for the dogs but all proceeds go to the humane society.

Event Organizers say the party grows each year.

“First, when we started, we had about 25 dogs starting to participate but now we have up to 100 dogs that come each year. And we greatly appreciate the out-pour from the community. It helps our shelter so much. It helps us to be able to get every dog spayed and neutered before they’re adopted to go home,” said Christy Crenshaw, event organizer.
OCHS is a non-profit organization and they always accept donations.
