Storm Damaged Distribution Center Reopens

HACKLEBURG, Ala. (AP) – Gov. Robert Bentley joined Wrangler officials to celebrate the reopening of the company’s distribution center in Hackleburg a day shy of the second anniversary of an EF-5 tornado that destroyed Wrangler’s distribution Center.

Bentley and company officials were on hand Friday afternoon to officially open the new distribution center. One person was killed at the Wrangler facility by the April 27, 2011 storm.

About 150 people worked there at the time of the storm. VF Corp. president and CEO Eric Wiseman said there will be about 160 workers at the new facility in the beginning and eventually as many as 250. The governor worked with Wrangler officials to make sure the facility was rebuilt.

The facility includes a memorial to storm victims.
