“Team Flavor” Raises Money For Nationals

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A local girls basketball team is heading to nationals.

On Saturday, they hosted a fish fry to help with the trip’s expenses.

In July, “Team Flavor” will head to nationals in Orlando, Florida.

The girls team is the only one from the Golden Triangle to qualify for the competition.

With the cost totaling to around $6,000 dollars for the trip, the group is aiming to raise as much money as possible before they leave.

Team members say they are excited to see their hard work and dedication pay off.

“We went through a lot of tournaments already, we’ve accomplished a lot of goals, we’ve won a lot of medals. It means a lot to be able to go different places and go discover the world and play what you love to play,” said team member Haley Lampard.

Team Flavor is still accepting donations for their trip.
