Thefts Net 19-Year Prison Sentence

Lowell

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A string of burglaries and thefts almost two years ago lands a Lowndes County man a long prison sentence and thousands of dollars in restitution.

William Travis Lowell, 32, was sentenced to 19 years in prison for grand larceny, burglary and possession of stolen property. He pleaded guilty in Lowndes County Circuit Court to the thefts in the Prairie area of western Lowndes County in April and May 2011.

He also must pay $34,900 in restitution to his victims, Sid Imes, Frank Imes, Andy Hill and River of Life Church.

Under current state corrections terms, Lowell likely will serve less than six years but then he must enter the state’s restitution center where he will work off the money he must pay back.
