STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A huge football game, the start of basketball season and a volleyball game, those are just a few things happening on the campus of Mississippi State this weekend.

With a busy weekend kicking off, also comes a lot of game day traffic.

Certain streets on campus, including Creelman, are already blocked off, ahead of tomorrow’s game against Alabama.

MSU Police Chief Vance Rice says all of his officers will be on duty, along with around 100 extra officers coming in for back up.

He has one word of advice to all those on campus this weekend.

“With only two lane roads around campus, traffic will be a problem, and we just ask people to be very patient. I anticipate it taking anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half after the game to empty campus,” said MSU Police Chief Rice.

Chief Rice says Creeman might open back up during the game but always plan to have an alternate route.
