Video: Red Cross Remains In Columbus, Shelter Still Open

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The American Red Cross remains in the area, offering assistance to flood victims.

The Red Cross of North Mississippi is keeping their shelter open for anyone displaced by Tuesday’s flood.

Some areas remain without power and those affected by the power outages or flooding, may seek shelter at Southside Baptist Church In Columbus.

Red Cross officials say they will stay in the area as long as their assistance is needed.

“We had it open last night and didn’t have anybody come to spend the night, but we still have staff that are there and ready to accept people as they need shelter,” said Chase Munro, with the North Mississippi Red Cross.

Southside Baptist Church is located at 100 Nashville Ferry Road,  in Columbus.
