AUBURN, Miss. (WCBI) — There is still much work to be done to clean up from the April 28th tornadoes.

One of the areas hit was the Auburn community in east Tupelo. There is still plenty of debris on the side of the roads.

On Saturday morning a booth was set up at Auburn Baptist Church so volunteers could sign up. There were similar booths around the Tupelo area.

Tiffany Parker is with the Mooreville-Eggville Volunteer Fire Department. She says there is progress in the Auburn recovery.

“It’s coming up pretty good,” Parker said. “We’ve got a few places that still need quite a bit of help but it’s coming along pretty good.”

Parker says volunteers should contact United Way which is coordinating the volunteer registration effort in the area.
